Davidson is the most architecturally particular town we work in, and we like it for that. Around the college and the older streets off Main, there is a brick and stone vernacular worth matching rather than ignoring, and a lot of our work here is about making new hardscape look like it has always been there.
The other Davidson constant is trees. Mature canopy means shade, root systems close to the surface, and surfaces that stay damp longer than they would two towns over.

What Davidson projects usually involve
Matching existing masonry. Older Davidson homes have brick worth respecting. We will source to match colour and bond pattern where the new work meets the old, and where an exact match is not available we will tell you and suggest a deliberate contrast instead of a near-miss.
Working around mature roots. Big trees and hardscape can coexist, but not by accident. We hand-dig near significant roots, adjust layouts around them, and will move a patio edge a couple of feet rather than sever the root plate of a tree that took eighty years to grow.
Shade, damp and organic growth. Shaded patios hold moisture and grow algae faster. That changes the sealing conversation and sometimes the material: a surface with more texture and better drainage earns its keep under a canopy.
